The Jefferson Conservation District partnered with Punxsutawney Borough, Representative Sam Smith and surrounding property owners
on this project to reduce soil erosion along Sawmill Run in Punxsutawney Borough. Rep. Sam Smith was fundamental in the District receiving a DCED Grant to help alleviate some of these erosion problems. In an effort to be environmentally
friendly, a green technology was used to stabilize the banks. The contract for the doing the work was awarded to Weaver
Express.
